ELLSO Amersham Weekend 26-28th Febuary 2010

Sign up for a whole weekend of ELLSO magic in the beautiful setting of Woodrow High House Centre near Amersham;(car M40/M25; Metropolitan tube/train to Amersham) www.londonyouth.org.uk/centres/woodrow.html
  1. Ensembles and full orchestral sessions
  2. Special sessions and classes
  3. Informal group playing
  4. Great opportunity for new and existing members at all levels as well as former ELLSO and COMA members to get together.

The weekend is for ELLSO members at all levels including absolute beginners and the range of music to suit including parts written for all abilities. We have the house to ourselves and there are many rooms for playing in for all sizes of groups as well as extensive grounds.

London Youth, the Centre management have now extended the deadline for deposits (minimum 40 persons) until 28th February 2009 so that we can avoid running a scaled down weekend due to slow payment of deposits.

Tutors

Lower Stages
Susanna Wilson – Cello and double bass.
She’s particularly interested in how we learn and can remember the music and will be arranging Cello ensembles.

Liz Bell – Violin and Viola.
She was an original ELLSO tutor when ELLSO was much smaller and used to making music from scratch with very diverse tastes and abilities.

Upper Stages
Peter Rayner – Cello
He’s particularly interested in musical forms and encouraging composition as featured in his ELLSO Musicianship Classes. He will be arranging recording for CDs.

Tina Bowles – Violin and Viola
She’s arousing players interests through “hidden tunes” in specially written scores.
