We do have vacancies at some of our weekly ELLSO activities. For others, we may need to place your name on a waiting list for a while. The names are listed in strict order of the date of enquiry. When a place becomes available we always offer it to the first person on the list who will be able to benefit from that particular place.

It will therefore be really helpful if you could tell us about your playing experience (if any!) by answering the questions below:

Which instrument would you like to play at ELLSO?
Have you ever played this instrument before?
Can you read music?
If not, don't worry, we may be able to loan one to you at reduced cost
Are you currently having lessons or playing regularly with others?
eg approximate ABRSM Grade or number of years' learning /playing

ELLSO runs three sessions during each week in term time.

  1. Saturday ELLSO - Group tuition on your instrument, Musicianship sessions and Ensemble playing. Beginners uo to about ABRSM Grade 6/7 standard.
  2. Monday evening Intermediate String Ensemble (ISE) - aimed at aboiut ABRSM Grade 2-5 standard.
  3. Thursday evening Symphony Orchestra (ESO) - for those at a confident ABRSM grade 6 standard and above.
