Jeremy Hughes (Cello)

 

Jeremy Hughes combines a teaching career with life as a freelance cellist, conductor, editor and arranger. He began learning the cello when seven and went on to study in the United States at the Eastman School of Music and later with members of the Vermeer Quartet.

Resident in the United Kingdom since the early 1990’s, he has taught on courses and workshops around the country. He is also a part-time lecturer in musicology at the Colchester Institute and cellist of the Kingfisher Quartet.

Jeremy has been the conductor of the Lavenham Sinfonia since 2009.
